To live positively in the present means to live each day to the fullest, with a focus on the positive aspects of life happening right now.
It means living happily ever after now, not waiting to live happily ever after later. Living a positively present life is the culmination of many little acts, all of them adding up to a more positive and more present life.
There are so many times in your day that you can choose to change a situation to be a positive, rather than a negative experience.
Is the opportunity to live a ‘positively present’ life, open to us all? That happiness we seek in the present?
It would be if we ‘chose’ to do only that which makes us happy. That includes work as well as play. How lucky is the person who lives positively in the present – at work!
When you are working for the community, as we do at FSG, it is essential that every day we are working with others to assist them to live positively. It is essential that at FSG we do not develop or offer ‘programs’ that people must ‘fit’ into! It is essential that we develop a life around their needs, their wishes and their dreams.
If we offer opportunities to live positively in the present, we are also offering an opportunity to live positively in the future! It is essential that our every action helps others see that positivity brings growth, whilst negativity pushes growth, joy and opportunity out of our lives.
In our communities we see examples of wonderful growth in people that were ‘written off’. People who were told they ‘could not succeed’. These are the negatives we must combat. We need to help people understand that other people’s growth could lie in their hands – a smile, an encouraging word or nod – maybe that is all it would take to help someone move up and ahead!
