Overnight High-Care Packages
Funded by the Department of Health and Ageing, this support provides a flexible and alternative choice for overnight care to carers of people with dementia or frail with age, who live in the Brisbane South region.
Employed Carers Project – West Moreton
Funded by the Department of Health and Ageing, the project provides flexible respite utilising a host family or in-home model to provide assistance to employed carers of people over the age of 65 years living in the rural or hinterland areas of the region. The host family worker provides support for up to two care recipients whilst their carer attends their paid employment.
Employed Carers’ Project – Brisbane South
Funded by the Department of Health and Ageing, this service provides a flexible respite package to carers of people over the age of 65 years living in the Brisbane South region to assist them to continue or enter in the workforce.
OVERNIGHT HIGH CARE PACKAGES - SOUTH BRISBANE
Funded by the Department of Health and Ageing, a care management approach is used to assist parents over the age of 65 years who care for their adult son or daughter with a disability at home. Families are assisted to review and access services that meet their current needs, as well as consider and plan their future goals.
DEMENTIA EDUCATION & TRAINING PROJECT
Funded by the Department of Health and Ageing, Bluegums is located in Waterford and provides a range of activity options to people with a disability and their parents/carers. Options include in-home; day; evening; after-school; friendship club; overnight stays in a home-like environment; and parent/carer groups. Strong emphasis is placed on resourcing families through information, education, respite and linking with their community.
Bayside Dementia Cottage – Brisbane
Funded by the Department of Health and Ageing, the Bayside Dementia Cottage provides a personalised respite experience in a, home-like environment. It is an innovative dementia respite care model and works closely with other dementia and specialist services in responding to this special needs group. It caters for overnight, weekend or longer; planned and unplanned stays. |
